How to Overcome Stage Fright

Most of us feel a degree of nervous apprehension when preparing to speak up or perform in front of a group. Even the most confident performers can suffer from stage fright. Stage fright is common for everyone from actors to professional presenters. If you have stage fright, then you may start to feel nervous, shaky, or even completely debilitated at the thought of performing in front of an audience.

This kind of anxiety seems at such times to take on a life of its own, and it feels like you lose any sense of control.

Learning to improve your speaking or performance skills is good, but it’s generally not enough to substantially reduce your fear. Avoidance may give you immediate relief, but it reinforces your fear in the long run.

You can overcome your stage fright by training your body and mind to relax or even better; to stay balanced! Our brains are capable of learning how to control the anxiety state.

You must address and revise any negative perceptions, beliefs, thoughts, images, and predictions related to public speaking or performing. And it is sometimes helpful to uncover the deeper fears related to being seen and heard by others, showing vulnerability, and being considered less than perfect. Learning to accept yourself and not feeling that you have to prove yourself to others is at the root of healing.

If you want to know how to overcome stage fright, learn about hypnotherapy with Hypnobalancing™. Find comfort and ease in expressing yourself in front of others.
