Non-medical male impotence or erectile dysfunction (ED)

Impotence or erectile dysfunction means not being able to get or maintain a good enough erection to have fulfilling intercourse. Temporary impotence is very common indeed, particularly in younger men, and especially when they are either anxious or have drunk too much alcohol.

Many body systems are involved in male sexual arousal; brain, nervous system, blood vessels, muscles, hormones, and emotions are all key to proper function. A problem in one part of the body can cause erectile dysfunction.

Many chronic diseases, such as heart disease, are sometimes first diagnosed after a man discusses his symptoms of erectile dysfunction with his medical doctor.

Sometimes there are no physical reasons for an erectile dysfunction. Occasional impotence is common and often caused by stress or performance anxiety, however, if the problem persists, professional help may be required. And when the physician can’t find a physical reason psychotherapy can help because often erectile dysfunction is a psychological issue.

Hypnotherapy may also be beneficial for individuals who want to release negative or limiting beliefs by identifying the triggers that started them. Learning how to manage and deal with them may then be possible. Hypnoanalysis, therefore, may help to identify the root cause of the issue and deal with it.

If you’re having erection problems, bear these points in mind:

  • The most common cause of temporary impotence is just anxiety and not some serious disease!
  • Impotence can be helped by medication, sex counseling, mechanical aids, or – very occasionally – surgical treatment.
  • Impotence may be a symptom of another, as yet undiagnosed, disease requiring treatment; the most common of these is diabetes.

Psychological Causes

An erection happens when blood is pumped into your penis – and stays there – making it stiff and hard. All sorts of things may affect this complex process. Besides physiological causes there are the following psychological causes:

  • Anxiousness about whether you can perform will almost certainly make it impossible to get an erection.
  • Problems in a relationship may affect potency.
  • Impotence may be caused by depression.
  • Bereavement: recent loss of a loved one is notorious for causing impotence.
  • Tiredness
  • Stress
  • Hang-ups – for instance, guilt about sex.
  • Unresolved gay feelings
  • Having an in your mind unattractive partner.
  • Porn-induced erectile dysfunction

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is used with non-medical impotence. Non-medical impotence is the case when men experience arousal states during sleep.

Old books recommend an easy way to tell, but not a replacement for medical examination is to put a band made from postage stamps around your penis before you go to bed. If the band is broken in the morning, you are more than likely having normal erections during sleep.

Sexual problems such as these are related to the subconscious, and hypnotherapy helps in taking away the layers which hide the real reason. The real reason is not that your sexual prime is going downhill. The problem is that your head is governing the actions of the other, and what results is a wilting experience.

Hypnotherapy helps you confront the negative emotions, and teaches you to get over it. It helps you gain confidence and takes the pressure out of the performance. It will help you get back your self-confidence and masculinity whilst be enabling you to enjoy pleasing your partner and yourself.

Self-hypnosis

Self-hypnosis has helped many patients with stress. Many sufferers usually report very quickly a noticeable improvement. Pondering, fears, mental and physical tension can be additionally reduced by self-hypnosis. Therefore, I teach my patients self-hypnosis to supplement the hypnosis sessions.

After positive trance experiences have been made with my support, self-hypnosis can be learned very quickly. This helps them to progress self-determined outside the therapy. It accelerates the process, deepens and consolidates the achievements. This also promotes the independence of the clients. A good therapist will be superfluous as soon as possible. Self-hypnosis is an excellent self-help method that can be used beyond the actual topic.

Can Stress and Anxiety Cause Erectile Dysfunction?

Anxiety, stress and erectile dysfunction are closely connected. Because men facing increased stress or anxiety may also have increased blood pressure and cholesterol. Those conditions increase a man’s risk for erectile dysfunction.

Stress is the physical response of the body to life’s issues. Stress and anxiety can cause harm to your body and the erectile disfunction is just one of the many ways the damage manifests itself. It can lead to a vicious cycle because erectile dysfunction itself can cause a man further stress and anxiety, which can cause additional erectile dysfunction issues and so on.
